FAQs

What is roller derby?
Roller derby is a full contact team sport, sort of like rugby on roller skates. It is played on a flat track (usually in a sports hall), and the object of the game is to score as many points as possible by lapping opposing team skaters on the track.
I haven't skated before, can I still join?
Absolutely! Sign up for our New Intake. We will try to teach you all the skills you need to skate and play roller derby. You don't even need your own skates at the start, we can provide you with the skates and pads for your first intake.
I don't want to skate, can I still get involed?
Yes! We would love that! You can become a Non-Skating Official (NSO). These valued volunteers run our games, and make it possible for us to play. Please get in touch if you think this could be you.
My child would like to play, how can they join?
We have a Juniors Team called the Terrors, for 8 to 17 year olds, which your child can join. Just send us a message by email or social media and we can sign them up.
